Virginia Regions WebQuest

Virginia Regions
Virginia Regions and Products

Introduction

In this WebQuest, you will learn about the regions in Virginia, as well as the different products and commodities that Virginia raises, grows, and sells.

 Task

Your final task is to create a brochure of one Virginia region that you would like to advertise for travelers.

 Process

Part 1: Vocabulary and Introduction

Before you can learn about the regions and products, you need to learn the vocabulary involved.  Do this matching activity.

 Part 2:  Regions

This website will help you learn about each region of Virginia.  Complete each region’s graphic organizer as you journey through the state.   Start at the home page, and navigate through all 5 regions.

Next, you need a blank copy of this map.  Color each region on the map a different color.  Make sure you make a legend on the map to state your coloring.

 Part 3: Products

Now that you know about the geographic layout of Virginia, you can learn more about what each region grows or raises: the products and commodities.

Read through the facts on this website.

When you have finished reading, answer these questions.   You can use the website to help you.

Now, put your region and product knowledge to the test!  Follow the directions on your sheet to make a chart and a bar graph.  These will help you become more familiar with the products Virginia has and where they are made.

Quick Review: Complete this crossword puzzle when you have finished.
