Virginia Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom
Cows Don’t Go to School…but Agriculture in the Classroom tells their story. Through workshops, an educational newsletter, and many resources available on this website, Agriculture in the Classroom helps teachers in Virginia tell agriculture’s story to thousands of students across Virginia.
The Virginia Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom funds the Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) educational initiatives and programs. Agriculture and gardening provide a living laboratory where lessons are drawn from real-life experiences rather than textbook examples.
All materials are provided to Virginia teachers and schools at no cost. Contributions from individuals, corporations, agricultural organizations and private foundations make AITC’s programs and services possible. The generosity of our supporters enables AITC to provide quality programs and continue to develop new and interesting resources that meet the needs of educators across Virginia.
Agriculture in the Classroom is a program of the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation. The Federation provides administrative support of the program and 80% of all gifts to the foundation go directly to cover administrative expenses. Thank you for your consideration of the program’s good work and your willingness to support it.
